About The Composer:
Martin Broones (1901 - 1971) had a comprehensive
background in the world of music, in theatre, in motion pictures, radio, and
television. He wrote the scores for many musical comedies which were
produced in New York, London, and Paris, and he organized and directed
the first Music Department in Hollywood for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. His
musical styles range from Classical to Broadway to the Hollywood film
scoring of the 1940-50's.
Besides an extensive
repertoire of concert music, Mr. Broones composed many well-known sacred
songs which have been sung all over the world now for many years. A
devout spiritual thinker, Mr. Broones withdrew from business in 1948 to
devote his full time to just that.
About The Vocalists:
Dorn is an award-winning singer, composer, arranger and producer
whose work includes the recording industry, film soundtracks, television,
commercials, theater, arena tours, industrials, night clubs and the concert
stage. She has sung with many artists including Celine Dion, Bette Midler,
Jennifer Lopez, Lionel Ritchie, Donald Fagen, Jessica Simpson, k.d. lang,
Willie Nelson, Diana Ross and Michael Feinstein. She is also the leader of
the award winning a cappella group, The Accidentals.
Jennifer Foster has been featured with the Los Angeles
Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, LA Opera in lead and comprimario
roles, a national tour with San Francisco Opera's Western Opera Theater,
and invitations to perform at Aspen, Santa Fe, Tanglewood and Verbier,
Switzerland's summer music festivals among many others. Jennifer served
as soloist at The First Church of Christ, Scientist for seven years. She lives in
Westport, CT with her husband and four children.
Matt Perri is currently pianist and assistant conductor for The
Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway. He has worked on the music staff for
Bette Midler's Kiss My Brass US Tour as a vocal arranger, rehearsal
pianist, and vocal coach for Bette Midler. He was the original lead tenor,
music director, and arranger of the "Hip Hopera" segment on The Morning
Show with Ed Lover and Dr. Dre radio broadcast in New York City. He is
also a member of the award-winning, a cappella group, The Accidentals.
Judy McLane is currently starring in
the Broadway Hit, Mamma Mia!. She received critical acclaim in New York
for her performance in the musical Johnny Guitar (Drama Desk Award
Nomination for Best Actress in a Musical). She also received a Helen Hayes
Nomination for Best Actress in a musical for her role in Follies at the
Signature Theater in DC. Other Broadway shows include Kiss of the
Spiderwoman, Aspects of Love and Chess. Judy also has
performed as a soloist with the Bolshoi Orchestra in Moscow, the National
Orchestra of Lyon, France, National Symphony of Canada, St.Louis, Detroit,
Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Baltimore Orchestras.
Julia Wade's work spans many different musical genres from
classical to Broadway to pop. She has performed nationally and
internationally in opera, cabaret, concert work, and musical theatre, including
The Rome Opera and Carnegie Hall. Currently Julia is the soloist at the The
First Church of Christ, Scientist at the world headquarters in Boston, MA.
Julia can be heard weekly on the internet broadcast of their English and
Spanish services. Julia has three inspirational CDs to date: Story For The
Ages, Upon The Mountain, and The Greatest Thing In The
Suzanne Waters is a fresh young voice who is at home with many different styles of music from classical to pop. She now lives in Los Angeles, California, where she is pursuing a full-time career in session singing. Prior to working with Peter Link on this project, she has been recording studio vocals for Los Angles based composer/producers and singing regularly for church services and weddings. Her earlier musical accomplishments include principal roles in Into the Woods and Pirates of Penzance, and also performing studio vocals for renowned composer/producer Jeffrey Silverman.
About The Accompanist:
William Lewis is a professional pianist/vocal coach whose playing includes opera to music theatre and the concert and cabaret styles. He regularly plays for the Irish Tenor Ronan Tynan and has appeared in concert with Marcello Giordani, Maureen O'Flynn and Miss Patti LaBelle. He has recorded with Ronan Tynan, Marcello Giordani, Victoria Livengood, and Gregory Harrington.
