QUOTES

“Peace Like A River is probably the most beautiful composition/performance I have ever heard.” - James R. B., Leland, NC

“[Regarding] your recent contribution on time4thinkers weekly musician [Father of Lights], I danced outside to that piece. I was in the early morning with my bike before the sun got hot and went under these beautiful trees and took of my shoes and let the music move me. It was wonderful. It was truly a Thanksgiving service for me. THANK YOU! Also, [one day my] church service was without an organist. I spontaneously picked out a solo from your album "SOULSHINE". I was inspired to pick this because I heard it sung in one of The Mother Church's Sunday services. How enriching!” - Jim Oliver, Germany

“I thank you all so much. It touch[ed] me so and gave me such comfort just when I was missing GOD’s son so much. Knowing who is always with him and me. Thank you for this most beautiful expression of love.” - Maureen Carbahal, Rohnert Park, CA

“One word: Awe! Awesome! Awe-inspiring! And, yes, I am awestruck.
Thanks so much for your guys’ dedication and love that can be felt through your music.” - Jennifer Johnson, Kent, WA

“The spiritual message is so clear. I sincerely hope your work moves off the internet and into our branch churches.” - Linda Workman-Morelli, Portland, OR

BIOGRAPHY

Tessa E. B. Frost has been singing since she was a little girl, with forays into musical theater, folk, and jazz. For the last several years she has been performing jazz with Jay, writing inspirational lyrics and melodies, and soloing regularly at branch Churches of Christ, Scientist. A highlight in her work as a soloist was singing at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Christian Science Church in Boston.

As Chair of her church’s Music Committee, Tessa recognized the need for a deeper reservoir of church solos that were both musically accessible to today’s ear and deeply meaningful in their message. At Jay’s suggestion, the duo began composing solos based on the inspiring ideas shared in the Christian Science Bible Lessons. The result is their first collection of solos, Soulshine.

Jay A. H. Frost has played piano professionally for nearly 10 years - in a rock band, with his own jazz trio, in church, and as a solo pianist.

He released his first original CD in 2005 ("Save It for a Rainy Day") and is now performing, teaching, and composing in Washington, DC.

Since joining the Watchfire family, the Frosts' inspirational solos have been sung at churches across the country … and even abroad! The duo has been featured on the Weekly Musician (at time4thinkers.com) and they have written music for the "Radical Acts" project.

Jay and Tessa are overjoyed to be sharing these freshly minted solos on Watchfire Music. They especially hope to encourage young musicians to share their talents at church, reflecting God’s rhythm and Soul!
