BIOGRAPHY

Preacher’s kid Charles Owens II has been involved in the music ministry since he was 17 years old. Growing up in church and learning music at an early age prepared him for his calling of leading worship. After writing his own music and brushing up his musical skills, he decided it was time to share his passion for music with others.

Before becoming the lead singer of The Torn Curtain, Charles recorded his own solo album in 2005 entitled You Make Me Humble. With a country-tinged flare with a blend of Contemporary Christian and gospel music, You Make Me Humble will remind you of Steven Curtis Chapman and Rascal Flatts!

God showed that he had his hand in Charles’ solo project not only by allowing Charles to receive radio airplay nationwide and receive the opportunity to lead worship in various venues all over the southeast, but it was through Charles’ solo project that he met his wife, Meghan Owens.

Meghan’s sister, Erin, was hired as Charles’ backup vocalist for the project “You Make Me Humble.” Charles and Meghan have been married since July 7, 2007, and now have a baby girl, Marlee Joy Owens.

Charles still performs some of his solo work, but is now touring and leading worship with his new Christian Rock band, The Torn Curtain.

QUOTES

"Charles came to lead a DiscipleNow Weekend for us a few years ago. He is a gifted worship leader and musician. He connected immediately with the kids and led us effectively in worship. Most of all, I appreciated Charles's spirit. It was obvious that his main objective was to be used by God during the weekend and he was sensitive to our needs and where our students were. You would be blessed to have him and the Torn Curtain come and be a part of your special events." -Lynn Turner, Youth Minister, FBC Richmond, VA
